Basketball
Men’s and women’s teams are gearing up for the season’s first games. The men face Mercer in an exhibition game on Thursday, while the women go up against Emory on November 8.
Cross Country
The LaGrange College Cross Country teams traveled to Grady, Alabama, on Saturday for the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship race at the Greenbrier cross county course. Competing in the 6K, the women's team posted a seventh-place finish and was led by freshman Kennedy Young, who had a time of 29:13:5. She was followed by teammates Laurel Reese, with a time of 30:23:5, and Lindsey Swearngin, with 32:38:9.
The LC men earned a sixth-place finish in the 8K, with sophomore Luke Jarvis leading the pack with a 32:36:7 time. Following close behind were Elijah Rachel and Eddie Montgomery with times of 39:19:6 and 39:59:8, respectively.
Football
The Panther Football Team fell on Friday night on the road against Belhaven, 70-16. The game was moved up from Saturday afternoon due to impending weather.
Golf
LC closed out its fall season last Tuesday with a sixth-place finish at the Chick-fil-A Intercollegiate at the Stonebridge Golf Club. The Panthers moved up four spots in the standings with a final round team score of 299 for a team total of 613. Freshman Jeremy Edmunds had a team-leading 149 total.
Men’s Soccer
LC (11-4-2) advanced to the CCS Championship game with a 2-0 win over Piedmont on Saturday. Earlier in the week, senior forward Enrique Hernandez was named conference Player of the Year, and Head Coach Ryan Dickson was named Coach of the Year. The team faces Convenant on Saturday at 5 p.m. for the title.
Women’s Soccer
The Panthers fell on the road Saturday against Covenant College 2-1 in the Quarterfinals of the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship Tournament. Briana Suarez scored the team’s goal. They finish the season 8-6-2.
Volleyball
LC closed out the regular season with a 3-0 sweep of Agnes Scott at a Collegiate Conference of the South tri-match Saturday at Maryville College. The Panthers lost 3-0 to host Maryville in the first match of the day. On Thursday, the team celebrated Senior Night and honored Vianca Colon-Gonzalez, Jharia Harris and Bailey Moss. LC lost the match to Huntingdon 3-0. The team competes in the quarterfinals of the CCS Championship tonight at Maryville.
